The redevelopment of a former Debenhams Department Store in the centre of Nuneaton will create 73 new homes and 5 smaller retail units. The development will also create a new connection along the River Anker, a footpath linking Bridge Street and Newdegate Street. A series of quiet courtyards will also be created in the heart of the urban block, reintroducing life, and activity into this part of the town.

The proposals consist of five buildings that front onto the existing streets and retain the existing commercial frontages on Bridge Street South and Newdegate Street and introduce additional commercial frontage onto Bridge Street east. The new footway created along the riverside will also allow the commercial frontages on Newdegate Street North and Bridge Street South to turn the corner to address the river and people using this new route.

The new buildings are arranged around courtyard spaces formed in the heart of the urban block introducing a dense but friendly mews style community. The new residential accommodation will enjoy views into the courtyards and across the river. All the flats will benefit from large floor-to-ceiling windows will provide generous levels of daylight into the centre of each home.
