The extensive refurbishment of the communal facilities within the basement area of the existing student accommodation at College Green in the heart of Bristol was completed in 2017. Replacing an outdated, cellular environment containing a series of sterile rooms, the new facilities were designed to create an open plan amenity facility offering dynamic communal lounge areas for both work and play. This resulted in a significant increase in the usable floor area and greatly improved the rental income of the property.
Additional student amenity facilities included a gym, cinema, laundry and private study areas, along with dedicated staff facilities in the form of an office and rest area.
Following completion of the development and wide-ranging marketing amongst residents, the principles and finishes of the refurbishment were used to inform the standard specification documentation for our client.
