The introduction of a row of contemporary townhouses on Upper Byron Place has transformed the lane by defining a robust street edge with surveillance to greatly enhance the use of the street as a safe link between the City Centre and Brandon Hill Nature Reserve.

Designed as a reflection of the playful terraced housing which exists in many parts of the city, the row of townhouses is formed of a varying palette of facing brickwork with bronzed cladding and individually designed fretwork screens, each one telling a different story about the city’s history.  All townhouses contain bedroom accommodation on the upper floors with a generous Lounge, Kitchen and Dining Room at street level, with additional rear access provided, linking the townhouses to private resident’s amenity via an alleyway adjacent to the repurposed heritage building.
